Linear AMS / Shapeways
Edge has been providing architectural service to this long term client since 2006. Founded in 2003 by John Tenbusch, Linear AMS is a customer-focused, solutions-oriented partner for plastics mold tooling and production. Modest front office renovations incorporated a modern look for the aggressive startup company that was beginning to make a name for itself.
In 2006 Linear incorporated additive manufacturing to their portfolio of services. Edge designed 7,000 SF addition to their Stark Road facility in Livonia that was dedicated to additive manufacturing. The addition housed climate controlled rooms designed specifically for the direct metal laser sintering machines. The glass enclosed rooms showcased their additive manufacturing prowess.
In 2016 Linear AMS relocated to Globe Street in Livonia, Edge redesigned the office space to suit their specific needs. When Linear AMS became a subsidiary of Shapeways in 2022, Edge transformed dark and dingy industrial space into a state of the art showroom for Shapeways’ 3D printing. The project was expanded to include an executive conference room and second floor office renovations that serves as the Linear AMS HQ.
